Stud-A-Thon

You are invited to Leave Your Mark in Comal County with our Habitat build on Candlelight Drive with Joe & Candace’s family. You will have the chance to make an impact by sponsoring or hosting a stud(s) for the build. The family have partnered with Comal County Habitat for Humanity by committing 350 hours of sweat equity, attendance of home ownership classes, graduation from our Financial Peace University and countless other areas of pledged responsibility.

Joe & Candace’s Family

We are counting on community support to match the dedication of these families. It will take over 300 studs (2×4-8) to frame our single family home with the  family. We invite you to partner with us by sponsoring or hosting a stud(s). Stud sponsorships are open to anyone – businesses, groups, organizations, schools, YOU… the possibilities are endless! Your sponsorship may be eligible for a tax deduction.

There are 2 distinct ways to have an impact on Candlelight:

  1. Sponsoring a Stud. Stud Sponsors donate $200 per stud – typically individuals, families, or organizations. Decorate with your family name, business logo, or just have fun.
  2. Hosting a Stud. Stud Hosts are responsible for donating $75 per stud up-front and then collecting $125 per stud within their group, business or organization – typically done by asking employees/peers/patrons to make donations and decorate the stud throughout the month or in a contest or raffle within your group. We have seen everything from kids-clubs to painting parties.

As a stud sponsor you will get to pick up the stud(s) and decorate them any way you like (with a few restrictions).  You may want to place your company logo, write a special message to the family, draw a picture or simply sign your name.  You also have the option of having Comal County Habitat for Humanity decorate the stud for you.

Each Stud Sponsor and Stud Host will be invited to a viewing event, Stud-Finder, where you will “find your studs” in the Habitat build, enjoy refreshments and meet Habitat homebuyers and their families..
