Please note:  Community Service Representative (CSR) Volunteers are only allowed to volunteer at our ReStore.
We DO NOT accept anyone convicted of Theft or Violent Crimes.  The courts will not accept Comal County Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) community service hours on Theft or Violent Crimes.

Community Service Representative Requirements:

If this is your first time reporting for a community service hours you must complete an orientation session prior to the first shift. This is a requirement for all participants. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 830-625-4025, ext. 8231 or 830-500-8489 if you have any questions. Or sign-up for orientation on the Community Calendar Event for a session.

All Community Service Volunteers initial starting point is scheduling or signing up for an orientation with the Volunteer Coordinator. Orientation is held weekly on–

  • Tuesday and Thursday: 9AM – 10AM | Saturday: 11am – 12pm

Orientations can be subject to change. Please check the Community Service Calendar to sign up and/or ensure orientation will be held.

    CSR Volunteers are required to sign the Community Service Agreement on their first day.

    The agreement provides specific requirements and guidelines for volunteering. Please review the agreement to determine whether you are eligible to volunteer.

    CSR Volunteers are required to complete the online safety training prior to arriving at the ReStore.

    Required Safety Courses:

    • You are exposed: general affiliate safety
    • Back safety
    • Preventing slips, trips and falls

            Additional Information:

            Please bring a valid form of identification that contains your picture on your first volunteer day.

            You must sign in and sign out on our “sign-in sheets” to receive credit for service hours.

            Safety regulations require all volunteers to comply with by our Dress Code policy.  Volunteers who do not meet Dress Code requirements will not be allowed to volunteer.

            • All ReStore Volunteers are required to wear closed toe shoes.
            • Shorts are acceptable, but please have shorts just above the knee.
            • No leggings or ripped pants.
            • No dangling jewelry
            • Please do not have any alcohol, tobacco, or drug logos, ads, or suggestive sayings on attire.

            Frequently Asked Questions

            Yes,  all volunteers are required to register prior to arriving for the volunteer event.

            • Please bring a valid form of identification that contains your picture on your first volunteer day.
            • Bring a water bottle marked with your name on it and any snacks or lunch you may need.

            ReStore volunteers help stock shelves, clean and organize merchandise and displays, receive donations, and assist customers.  Volunteers are NOT allowed to drive a truck or work the cash register.

            Yes, you are required to take our online safety training prior arriving.

            Yes.  All-day shifts are allotted a 30-minute lunch break.  We have a refrigerator to hold snacks or lunch if you would like to bring food.

            There is no smoking on site. On breaks, smoking can be done in designated areas only.
